For the last month the NPA Healing Centre Family and community Services has been home to a life size crocodile constructed out of bamboo and recycled ghostnets. As part of the 2011 Yumpla/NPA Art & Culture Festival, year 11 and 12 art students from senior campus visited the NPA Healing Centre on a weekly basis. Under the supervision of Miss Gabby they helped to build the magnificent creature. The Crocodile was a real communal effort and many hands contributed to the final piece which was auctioned for a total of $650 at the closing of the Yumpla festival. All proceeds from the auction will be used to plan the senior formal to be held at the end of the year and the Crocodile will now take up permanent residency in the Bamaga Tavern.
