Safe House & Placement Services

The Safe House services consist of:

  • A Residential care facility that will provide up to 6 placements for children in the care of Child Safety that enables children to remain in the NPA and return to the NPA when other foster and kinship carers are not available.
  • A Family Intervention Service that will assist and support families who are subject to intervention by DOCS Child Safety Services to help keep children safe and cared for in the family home or returned to the family home as quickly as possible; and
  • A Foster and Kinship Care Support Service that will work to support Foster and Kinship carers throughout the NPA so that they can continue to provide safe and secure homes for children who are unable to live with their parents as well as recruiting new carers to minimise the number of children from the NPA who are placed with Foster Carers outside of the NPA.

NPAFACS are very excited about the new services they will be providing throughout the NPA and in particular the impact the services will have on helping to keep families strong and stable throughout the NPA and children to remain living in the NPA when they can not live with their parents.

NPAFACS are presently liaising with Department of Communities Child Safety Services so each of the services can be started as soon as possible. NPAFACS will continue to inform the communities at all stages as the services become operational.

If you have any questions relating to the services please contact Amanda Ewart, CEO at NPA Family and Community Services on 4069 3555.
