The first annual starry night cinema was presented June 1st by NPAFACS’ Healing centre, in collaboration with NPARC and Menshed was an evening to remember for families and friends. With over 70 adults and children present to munch on hotdogs, fairy bread and good entertainment the energy was high and community spirit higher. The selection of films all had an underlying indigenous culture theme and were given by NFSA Black Screens. The NPAFACS understands the importance of maintaining cultural awareness as well as promoting positive change within our community this is why the NPAFACS will look forward to making more events like this in the future in order to provide a safe and welcome place for friends and family to spend quality time with each other. We would like to give a special thanks to NPARC’s Estelle, Adidi, and Stan for the time and effort put into this project and for the use of their cinema equipment. As well as a big thanks to Emma from Ibis and Meshed for the sausage sizzle. It is through these acts of unification that we can really do great community events.
