Mission , Vision and Goals

Our Mission

To provide quality support services that enable individuals, families and the broader community of the Northern Peninsula Area, Cape York and the Torres Strait to maintain a balanced and safe lifestyle.

We strive to develop a fair and equitable Torres Strait, NPA and Cape York – where no one gets left behind.

Who we are

NPA Family and Community Services has been operational for over 25 years and is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned and controlled non-government health and social health and wellbeing organisation. 

We currently offer the following programs:

* Licensed Child Care * Outside School House Care * Playgroup

* Women’s Shelter * Domestic and Family Violence service 

* Social and Emotional Well-being service * Bringing Them Home program

* Family Wellbeing Program and Intensive Parenting Support;

* Men’s Support Service 

* Youth Sexual Assault Development Project * Youth Housing Project * Youth Support and Youth AOD Service

* Child and Maternal Health services 

* Smoking Cessation Project

* Integrated Team Care Project * Remote Community Connector Program

* Primary Health Care clinic (AGPAL Accredited) * Healing Centre

    The Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program NPA together with Apunipima Cape York is a population health promotion program aims to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by reducing the prevalence of tobacco use through population health promotion activities to encourage positive changes to smoking behaviours.

    Bringing Them Home

    The BTH Program provides support for First and Second Stolen Generations and people affected by these past policies and practices through counselling for individuals, group therapy, healing workshops and community events.

    We provide intensive support for young people who are at risk of disconnection through the Youth Support Program and individual case management support for young people with alcohol or substance abuse problems.
